New Lap Timer

The CMS will be testing out a new lap timer. I have used the system for a while with some guys I race with in DC and I think it's a very good system. Is it the best? I don't know...I would say it's the best I have used so far.

It's an RF based lap counter with some really advanced features. Each transponder (small recording tag underneath the car) can be configured to store an image of the driver and some of their stats. Here's a sample screenshot from the CORE website.

We don't have a track layout for tonight...maybe we'll just wing it.

Tuesday November 6, 2007

We don't have a layout for this evening yet but the 45's have been a lot of fun to drive on. I might go with the HFAY layout for November.

We should have a new track element for next week. I went ahead and splurged on a lap timer for the track. If it ships by the end of this week we should have it for the next get together. I still have to find a computer for it though...shouldn't be too hard.

No Racing this Tuesday

The minispeedway won't be setup this week. It's the night before Halloween so we'll be putting the finishing touches on our costumes.

We'll catch you next week though.

October 16, 2007 Track Layout

Just messing around with the 45 degree turns again. We are also going to try to take some pictures of the track and hobby shop for an upcoming commercial. Stay tuned!

October 9, 2007 Track Layout

The race area is under construction so we'll probably setup outside of the hobby shop. We just got some new 45 degree turns so we'll experiment with one of the two following layouts.
